Sustainability and Our Sustainable Fabrics
Over the past decade, climate change has increasingly become a topic of debate within the production industry and with consumer products. At Well Elite, we hold our stance in stating that climate change is an inevitability if products and production do not become more sustainable. This leads to our commitment in shifting our production towards using more and more sustainable materials and techniques.
Commonly used materials for swimwear, such as Polyester and Nylon are synthetic and harmful to the environment. A byproduct of manufacturing Nylon is nitrous oxide, which is 310 times more potent than carbon dioxide as a greenhouse gas. Polyester also uses large amounts of water and energy in it's production. Furthermore, these synthetic materials can be prone to shedding microfibres which can be dangerous to wildlife as well as polluting the environment.
Our products are also seasonal, resulting in a consumer behaviour where products are thrown away for newer ones. As such, synthetic fabrics are also difficult to decompose and burn, causing pollution and crowding landfills such as those in Hong Kong. Hence, we have a wide range of recycled fabric to meet our customer's extensive requirements.
All our recycled fabrics are also all GRS certified. Our factories are also BSCI credited, and all fabrics and materials are REACH and OEKOTEX accredited.
